Actions: staking

These are the staking extrinsics, one form each, with subnet and validator pickers instead of raw netuids and hotkeys. Use them for one-off changes, for calls the staking app doesn't offer, or to sign as a proxy. Open Staking.

For staking across many subnets and validators at once, with live prices and your positions in view, use the staking app.

Stake and unstake

Add, Remove and Swap Stake trade through subnet pools. They are submitted through MEV Shield with a price limit from your saved max slippage, and the chain refuses the trade if the price moves past it. See Slippage.

Add Stake

Stakes TAO to a hotkey on a subnet. Outside Root, the TAO is swapped into the subnet's alpha at the pool price.

Remove Stake

Unstakes alpha from a hotkey back to TAO in your wallet. Outside Root, the alpha is sold into the pool.

Swap Stake (Switch Subnets)

Moves stake from one subnet to another in one transaction: the alpha is sold on the first subnet and bought on the second.

Move Stake (Switch Validators)

Moves stake to another validator on the same subnet. Nothing is traded through the pool.

Transfer Stake (Trade Alpha)

Gives stake to another coldkey. It stays on the same subnet and hotkey; only the owner changes. This cannot be undone.

Set Auto-Stake

Chooses the hotkey that your future rewards on a subnet are staked to.

Claim Root Emission

Claims unclaimed root emission now instead of waiting for the automatic claim. Claim from one validator or from all of them; the claimed amount is staked on Root. For each validator's basket and fees in detail, use Root Claim. See Root validator baskets.

Block Hotkey Spam

Stops other accounts adding new hotkeys to your staking list. Stake can still arrive on hotkeys you already have or own. Run it again with the switch off to allow new hotkeys.
