# Actions: identity

Set a wallet identity, a subnet identity or a subnet symbol with Taostats Actions.

An on-chain identity is the name, links and image that Taostats and other explorers show for a wallet or subnet. A complete identity is how delegators and miners recognise you. [Open Identity](https://taostats.io/pro/actions/identity).

Creates or updates your wallet's public profile: name, website, GitHub, image, Discord and description. It replaces the whole identity, so a field left empty is cleared. The chain only accepts it if at least one hotkey owned by the wallet is registered on a subnet.

Sets your subnet's name, description, website, contact, logo and social links. Subnet owner only. Like the wallet identity, it replaces the whole record.

### [Update Subnet Symbol](https://taostats.io/pro/actions/identity/update-subnet-symbol)

Chooses the symbol that represents your subnet's alpha. Subnet owner only. The symbol must be one the chain allows and not already used by another subnet.
